This year I was able to get into Upper Brush Creek. Quite a few friends were in town for the Kern River Festival. The day after the Brush Creek race was plans to get on Upper Brush Creek. There have been many years when Brush does not get above 1.5 on the bridge gauge. This year we had above 3.5 on the gauge for almost 2 months. I have heard that 3.5 is pretty optimal for this run, above 4 and it starts to become really hairy. There is alot of portaging, as well as intense eddy hopping between log portages. There was alot of work involved to get this run and I definitely enjoyed it thoroughly. For really good beta on the run please check out Daniel Brasuell’s write up on the run. Darin McQuoid also has a wonderful write up with alot more photo’s.

I also made a video edit of the run if you have a couple moments please enjoy.
