So far the Fall season in California has been incredible. I love this place so much, from the people who share this appreciation, to the great places we each seek out. I have been lucky to get on a could different runs so far this Fall. I started it out with a really great river fest. Feather River Fest 2011! There were lots of big name boaters there like Jason Craig, Darin McQuoid and Shon Bullock to name a few. With a great bang for your buck class V run like Tobin on the NF Feather even the most hardcore of boaters can find satisfaction. While it seemed as though everyone was on Tobin there were appx 500 people at this event! The NF Feather is a really special area. Right out of the Dam is Rock Creek a class III section of whitewater that even has a 6 foot boof to start practicing on. Unfortunately I was unable to get any video of this run as we scooted right though it. Below Rock Creek lies the infamous Tobin run. This run is great, the second your heart starts to pick up the pace lets off. Did I mention its like 2 miles long and road side the whole way? and last but certainly not least is Lobin. This is a great class IV run with really fun moves. However while it remains mostly class IV in nature it still served up heavy amounts of carnage with stories of people swimming out of sieves and lots of other good swim stories. Enjoy the video I put together below.
