About WwA

This website is dedicated to Assault on Whitewater.

The idea for WwA came about when Ethan Monk labeled my van Whitewater Assault Vehicle. The name stuck out in my head, and now the birth of the WwA blog!

My name is Austin Nickell. I first started kayaking in middle school after taking a class from Four Corners River Sports in Durango, CO. I started exploring whitewater fully in 2007 when I started commercially guiding rafts. I took my raft guide school through Mild 2 Wild Rafting! They are a really great rafting company in the Southwest area. I then became, what some might refer to as, a full blown addict. I enjoy pushing myself to new levels and will continue to do so. I started this site to promote everyone else involved, and share with those who aren’t. Many of these events required direct participants, some for safety, more for video and photography. This blog is for myself and my friends, to share our love for whitewater and to help each other reach our whitewater goals safely.

This is a compilation of my Summer. Its was definitely a great one that I will remember always. Thanks to all my awesome friends who also share in the love of whitewater.

In remembrance of Allen Satcher and Daniele Tira
